Presented by Glad Theatre and HamletScenen. Premieres February 2021
Throughout life, we find ourselves in stormy weather. We dream about changes or even about becoming someone else. When the storm has settled, we must find our way back home. We see things in a new perspective, dream about new ways, new places, find ourselves in a new reality to which we must relate. Until the stormy weather hits again.
The Tempest is a physical theatre performance about dreams and destinies. Being in the eye of the hurricane can be terrifying. But even when it seems darkest, it is possible to take control of your own destiny, to step out and find your way back home.
Choreographer Antonio Quiles has many years of experience from Europe, Asia and South and North America, both as a dancer and choreographer in Contemporary Dance and Inclusive Arts. He is employed as a teacher and choreographer at the Spanish internationally renowned dance company Danza Mobile, where he teaches and develops performances with dancers with disabilities.
Glad Theatre and HamletScenen share the artistic vision that Inclusive Arts should have an equal position in the performing arts landscape. The Tempest is the first step in long-term artistic and political cooperation.
